Boost My Startup Challenge – The second edition has its winner!

The Boost My Startup Challenge was born out of a collaboration between BG Consulting Engineers and UBS and has attracted the interest of some twenty startups for the 2022 edition. On Thursday 6 October, five of them were selected to come and pitch their solutions to the members of the jury and to investors. At the end of the pitches, the jury of experts selected the Vaud-based startup Uzufly, which has designed a method of ultra-detailed 3D modelling (UHD) capable of operating on several scales: buildings, neighbourhoods, cities, or region.

A real added value for urban development

The jury, composed of Pierre Epars, CEO of BG, Anne-Claire Pliska, Director of Strategic Planning and Innovation of BG, Nader Donzel, Director of Scitec Research, Katka Letzing, CEO and Co-Founder of Kickstart Innovation, Jan Lederhausen and Philippe Schlegel, from the Growth Advisory unit of UBS, was seduced by the potential of Uzufly.

The experts particularly appreciated the solution’s relevance to face current and future urbanisation issues. Uzufly’s workflow integrates the most recent and innovative photogrammetry, GIS and geospatial data processing solutions on the market. Continuous optimization of the processing chain is achieved through BigData, Cloud Processing and algorithmic tools. These innovative technologies enable the transformation of thousands of images into highly photorealistic Digital Twins, geo-referenced with an inch precision. A promising solution for urban planning and development.

A collaboration to come

«The Boost My Startup Challenge aims to enable young startups such as Uzufly to adapt their product to the market and develop sectoral knowledge» said Anne-Claire Pliska, BG’s Director of Strategic Planning and Innovation. «We are looking forward to working with this startup», continues the co-organiser of the Challenge.
