BG participates in FIDIC’s international conference in Geneva

The International Federation of Consulting Engineers, FIDIC, organises an annual global infrastructure conference attended by around 500 people from the consulting engineering community. Pierre Epars, CEO, will participate as an expert in a panel discussion on the theme of decarbonisation.

After two years of online conferences, FIDIC (Fédération internationale des ingénieurs-conseils) organizes its annual Global Infrastructure Conference in Geneva from September 11 to September 13, 2022.

The theme of the Conference is Building a better tomorrow, by investing today: Sustainable infrastructure development to improve community wellbeing and it will focus on how we engineer a sustainable future in a way that benefits communities worldwide.

The conference will bring together the world’s engineers and infrastructure stakeholders from across the globe, this 2022 event will be held face-to-face and be an important international gathering for our industry.

Pierre Epars, CEO of BG Consulting Engineers and Member of the Board of USIC (Swiss Association of Consulting Engineers) will participate as an expert in a panel discussion on de-carbonisation.

Panel session 4 – Accelerating the de-carbonisation challenge

Description: Upgrading existing and delivery of new build infrastructure.

  • What role can government play? How can legislation, taxation, incentives and subsidies be used to fast-track and address the climate change challenges?
  • How can the adoption of novel approaches such as project carbon balance sheets be used to monitor new build infrastructure?
  • How will the adoption of ESG measurement metrics and commitments such as the FIDIC Climate Change Charter help to focus attention on achieving Net-Zero by 2050?
  • What is the role of the consulting engineering profession in addressing legacy and new infrastructure assets?
